The Living Room began with the simple premise that people everywhere are craving more meaningful and connected conversations. That people want to gather together in person and listen and learn from one another through self exploration and learning from others’ experiences. We are always ‘on’ and always ‘networked,’ but so often, many of us miss the human touch of a conversation that is ”small and close” versus “everywhere and always.”
We envision The Living Room as an organic, growing experiment in conversation. Inspired by the brilliant TED Talks series, The Moth storytelling series in NYC, and new experiments in adult learning such as The School of Life in London (with chapters opening worldwide) and The Academi of Life in NYC.
We want to give you a creative pause; a place with no dogma. Just honest, fun, authentic talks and people coming together to learn more about living a deeper, creative, wiser and connected life. We hope that the experiences and speakers and learning we present will send people out into the world with lighter hearts, more compassionate minds and more hopeful thinking.
Our experiment launches with a live storytelling event “Beginnings and Endings” on November 15, hosted at the historic Kentish Guards Armory, East Greenwich.
Hope to see you there, and here’s to new beginnings for all.
